Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of kids in our neighborhood.



Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary school trainer and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, guaranteeing secure and inclusive play areas for all kids.

The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
