Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins  with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce  Brian Houchins   of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of kids in our neighborhood.

Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary college teacher and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, making certain safe and inclusive play areas for all children.

The award ceremony might be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
